GB News issued another crushing blow to King Charles in the lead-up to Prince Harry’s UK visit next month. On Sunday morning (June 28), Stephen Dixon and his guest co-host Bethany Elsey returned to the airwaves to discuss the biggest stories hitting the headlines. It didn’t take long before things turned to Buckingham Palace as they shared new reports claiming that Prince Harry is reconsidering whether to bring Meghan and their two children to Britain next month.

This change of decision comes following the rejection of his request for police protection during his family visit. The Duke of Sussex learned on Friday (June 26) that his application for a security package had been denied days before the family was due to arrive for their first family visit in four years.

The family planned a five-day trip in early July, with the family of four expected to stay at a royal residence, to mark the start of a yearlong countdown to the Invictus Games. The annual multi-sport event is scheduled to take place in Birmingham next summer.

The Duchess of Sussex had been expected to accompany her husband to several public engagements, including visits to Royal Hospital Chelsea and an Invictus event at the National Exhibition Centre. Their children, Archie and Lilibet, were not scheduled to attend any public appearances.

To get a deeper understanding of the latest revelations from across the pond, the presenting duo welcomed royal commentator Emma Woolf onto the show. She began: “The Sussex drama rolls on. Will they or won’t they come? This was a five-day trip planned for early July.

“Meghan was going to come and appear with Prince Harry, but the children were not going to appear, I don’t think. This now looks as though Prince Harry’s reconsidering because they’re reconsidering his police protection, although they haven’t decided on the police protection yet.

“It’s this protection issue all over again. Apparently, he was due a decision by March, but that’s been put on pause because it’s not a priority, really. There’s been quite a lot going on in the Royal Family in the last few years. So, will they or won’t they [visit]?”

Fellow guest Kevin Schofield confessed: “I feel sorry for the King in all this because I think he’s not seen in the flesh his grandson since 2022.” Presenter Bethany clarified that both kids visited the UK in June 2022 for the Queen’s planning, emphasising that Lilibet has been to the UK once.

Mr Schofield insisted: “But they’re five and seven. That’s a long time to go without seeing their granddad.” Sources close to the Duke and Duchess have accused the Home Office and the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royal and Public Figures (RAVEC) of “wilfully creating conditions that are making it nearly impossible” for the family to travel safely within Britain.

Last week, the family had accepted an invitation from King Charles to stay at a royal residence during part of their visit, though the specific location has not been disclosed for security reasons. Police protection would be available while on royal property, but outside those grounds, the Duke would need to depend entirely on his private security team from California.

It didn’t take long before viewers flocked to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their thoughts on the latest update online. One user penned: “I knew it. Sussex’s children and Megsy are never coming. They use their invisible children as bargaining tools, which is wrong. Harry and Meghan leaked they’re all coming to hype up the British media for nothing.”

Another asked: “Why do you keep reporting on someone who left for a private life? They should not have taxpayer-funded security, DON’T want them here, stop reporting on them.” A third chimed in with: “This charade was all planned beforehand.”
