GB News was interrupted for a breaking update as Ben Leo made a bombshell announcement about the rehousing of illegal migrants. The GB News presenter reported live from the English village of Piddington, Oxfordshire, where the government is reportedly planning to house more than 1,200 male asylum seekers. “This is Bicester Garrison, just down the road from a quaint English village, Piddington, where the government soon hopes to spring a surprise on the locals. 1,250 asylum seekers who will be free to roam the streets of the community.

“We don’t know who they are, where they’re from, what their intentions are, and it’s causing concern among locals.” The presenter then approached a man in a hi-vis jacket who was standing behind a gate. Ben noticed the man was taking pictures of him and the person behind the camera, leading him to politely ask why this was. “I’ll be doing a recording as well. Why I’m taking pictures is for my protection and your protection,” the man said.

Ben insisted: “I’m not going to hurt you. I’m just a humble journalist.”

Despite asking the man which company he worked for, Ben received no response as he simply walked away, leading him to question why he received such a “hostile” reaction.

He then spoke to a Piddington resident named Ian, who revealed the former MoD site has been abandoned for more than 20 years and would require significant redevelopment before anyone could live there.

He said: “This is not army barracks that is ready for refurbishment for accomodation. This is a munition site. As far as I’m aware, it hasn’t had anybody here for over 20 years.

“I suspect they’ll have to knock the whole thing down. It’s just a very large piece of land. Sewage, electricity and water will all have to be put in.”

Ian argued that while the government has claimed moving asylum seekers out of hotels will save money, relocating them to Piddington will still cost millions.

“Their pitch nationally is that moving people out of hotels is going to save a lot of money. Our view is this is going to cost tens and tens and tens of millions to create something sustainable and workable for asylum seekers,” he observed.

Ian added that he believes the addition of 1,250 male asylum seekers will change the feeling of the village, particularly for children.

The announcement sparked fury among viewers, with one commenting: “It’s alright housing illegal migrants there but it must be secure so that the migrants can not roam freely in the community and commit more crimes. Remember these people are criminals because they consorted with criminals to enter the UK illegally.”

Another fumed: “OUTRAGEOUS! These immigrants are becoming our worse nightmare. This is so serious but the awful government won’t do anything to protect us from illegals we know nothing about.”
