A failed Pakistani asylum seeker who groomed and repeatedly abused an eight-year-old girl has been jailed for 15 years. Kamran Khan, 44, warned the terrified child that if she reported the abuse, her father would kill her.
The court heard the ‘revolting and predatory paedophile’ claimed he had to leave Pakistan because he was facing persecution by an Islamic group for ‘un-Muslim activities.’ He pleaded not guilty but was convicted of two counts of rape of a child between September 2024 and July 2025 by a jury. Oliver Kelham, prosecuting, said: “The defendant had come to this jurisdiction in December 2024. He had previously visited.
“The victim began to explain what had happened to her mother and father.
“Her mother noted that in the past months her behaviour had changed and become more quiet and distant.”
Khan was also convicted of two counts of causing a child to watch a sex act, four counts of sexually assaulting a child and two counts of causing a child under thirteen to engage in sexual activity.
The predator had forced the girl to face the ordeal of cross-examination by claiming she had made everything up.
The range of abuse was uncovered after a family member witnessed an interaction between the child and Khan. Despite Khan threatening that the child would be killed if she disclosed the harm he subjected her to, she bravely spoke out to a family member. She shared the sexual abuse she had suffered at his hands within her home, in her bedroom, and on a park bench.
With an offence having been committed against a young child within her own home, officers worked resourcefully to secure evidence.
Khan’s phone was seized at the point of arrest and downloaded for review. The victim had disclosed that she had been forced to watch videos on his phone, and officers found corroborating pornographic material within his search history.
Additionally, forensic samples collected from Khan, as well as DNA samples from the victim, showed sexual contact had occurred.
Referring to the girl’s video interview, Mr Kelham said: “She stated that he had touched her privacy with his fingers and with his privacy. That is the word she used to describe genitalia.
“She stated that he said that if you tell anyone, you will die. She said he made a threat that her father would kill her if she told anyone.
Sentencing Khan, Judge Freya Newbery said: “At some point, you will be deported back to Pakistan.
“You thought she would never tell because of the threats you made to her. You thought that she could not be believed because she was so young, and what she described was so terrible.
“But everything she said and described and illustrated was true.”
Detective Constable Franky Green, part of the Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Team, said: “I commend the courage Khan preyed on a defenceless child and took advantage of formed connections, which he used as a smokescreen for his abusive crimes.ook advantage of formed connections which he used as a smokescreen for his abusive crimes.
“The immeasurable bravery of the victim and their family is tremendously appreciated.
